Google Spreadsheets - Unicode Text rendering problem in Formulas
Yesterday, while experimenting out new Google-Spreadsheet features, figured out the following problem with the formulas containing unicode kannada text.
Problem:
Kannada unicode text when used inside a formula, is not being rendered properly.
Here are the screenshots from Google-spreadsheets and from MS-Excel.
Google Spreadsheet:
You can notice that, the kannada unicode text "ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ" is not rendered properly. We see ?????? in place of that text (cell C2). However, it works perfect when the same text is put in a separate cell. That is, the formula used in C1 works just fine.
MS Excel:
As you can see from this screenshot, the unicode text("ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ) used inside the formula (cell C2) is displayed properly.
